Gift Card Terms of Service

Effective Date: 11/03/2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the purchase, use, and redemption of Archies Footwear digital gift cards (“Gift Cards”) issued for use in New Zealand.

By purchasing or using a Gift Card, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not purchase or use a Gift Card.

These Terms are subject to, and do not limit or exclude, any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA), the Fair Trading Act 1986 (FTA), or any other applicable New Zealand law that cannot be limited or excluded.

1. Definition of Gift Card

Gift Card
A digital gift card is a prepaid, stored-value card that can only be redeemed through the Archies Footwear NZ website.

Non-transferable
Gift Cards are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash except where required by New Zealand law.

2. Validity Period

Gift Card Expiry

Gift Cards are valid for three (3) years from the date of purchase. This expiry period reflects common retail practice in New Zealand.

After the expiry date, any remaining balance will no longer be available for use and will be treated as forfeited in accordance with these Terms and applicable New Zealand law.

3. Fees

No Fees

Archies Footwear does not charge any fees for activating, maintaining, or using a Gift Card balance.

4. Redemption

Online Use
Gift Cards can only be redeemed on the Archies Footwear NZ website by entering the 14-digit code during checkout.

Multiple Transactions
Gift Cards may be used across multiple purchases until the available balance is fully used.

Purchases Exceeding Balance
If a purchase exceeds the available balance on your Gift Card, the remaining amount must be paid using another accepted payment method.

Restrictions

  • Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase other Gift Cards.

  • Archies Footwear may refuse, cancel, or hold any Gift Card transaction if fraud, misuse, or a breach of these Terms is suspected.

5. Refunds and Faulty Cards

Faulty Gift Cards

If a Gift Card is faulty or fails to work as intended, you may be entitled to a remedy under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986. This may include a replacement or refund where required by law.

No Refunds

Gift Cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash, except where required by New Zealand law.

Refunds to Gift Cards

If you return an item purchased with a Gift Card:

  • Change-of-mind refunds will be returned to the same Gift Card, where possible.

  • Such refunds do not extend or reset the original Gift Card expiry date.

  • If a faulty product purchased with a Gift Card is returned, the refund may be issued as store credit or a replacement Gift Card.

6. Liability

Limitation of Liability

Archies Footwear is not responsible for loss, theft, damage, or unauthorised use of a Gift Card after it has been delivered (including via email or digital wallet), except where required by New Zealand law.

Force Majeure

7. Payment Methods for Gift Cards

Excluded Payment Methods

Gift Cards cannot be purchased using Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) services, including but not limited to:

  • Klarna

Any Gift Card transaction attempted using BNPL services may be cancelled or refused.

8. Gift Card Scam Warning

Gift cards are intended for purchasing goods from Archies Footwear or for legitimate gifting purposes only.

Archies Footwear will never request payment via gift cards for products, services, debts, or fees.

If someone asks you to purchase a gift card to make a payment, you may be the target of a scam.

To protect yourself:

• Never share your gift card code with someone you do not know personally.
• Do not provide gift card details to anyone who contacts you unexpectedly.
• Be cautious of anyone insisting that payment must be made using gift cards.

Once a gift card code has been shared with another party, the balance may be used without your consent and may not be recoverable.

If you believe you have been targeted by a gift card scam, please contact our customer service team immediately.

9. Privacy and Data Security

Archies Footwear is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.

Any personal information collected during the purchase or redemption of a Gift Card will be managed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, including how we collect, store, and use personal data.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand and are subject to the jurisdiction of New Zealand courts.

Archies Footwear may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in legislation or business practices. Updated Terms will be posted on our website, and continued use of a Gift Card constitutes acceptance of those changes.
